The Refugee Federation Service Center was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1982, and is governed by a board of directors representative of the refugee community being served. Refugee Federation contracts with the State of Washington and King County to provide free services to refugees and immigrants. We are affiliated with many ethnic community organizations and partner with businesses in the Puget Sound area.
Our mission is to assist refugees and immigrants in their transition to life in the United States by helping them become self-sufficient productive members of society, while maintaining their cultural and ethnic identity, and serve as a resource for local companies and agencies to foster a greater understanding of the refugee communities within the Puget Sound area.
We have been one of the prominent providers of services to refugees seeking resettlement in King and Pierce Counties. Our results include assisting refugees learn English help integrate their daily lives with the communities in which they live, to acquire job skills and employment referrals to achieve economic self-sufficiency, and counseling and coaching for adjusting to a new life in King County.
We provide free professional and personal services to our clients, and we can communicate in several languages assisting clients with program services, such as assisting clients to become self-sufficient in their new community, assisting with applications for benefits for refugees while they get settled in, and assisting with the process of finding meaningful employment.
You can qualify for services if you are 16 years or older, a refugee or immigrant, and not a citizen. Please contact the case manager who speaks your language to learn about our programs and services, how you can qualify for these free services and proceed with making an application.
We are located at 1209 Central Ave. South, Kent, Washington accessible by bus route 160 and private vehicles at 1209 Central Ave South. Call us 253-852-5150
